Brightwater Wine & Food Festival celebrates sensational sounds, wine, food, and summer. Hold onto your holiday groove, grab a friend and head to the Brightwater Wine & Food Festival, for all-day entertainment, fantastic food, and award-winning wine and beer.

Set in a stunning vineyard location, Middle Earth Winery on Bryant Road, the BWFF festival is all about local! For those partial to a glass of something classy in the sun, explore the best Nelson has to offer with our leading wineries, or snaffle a beer or cider from our stellar craft breweries. This is a family event and BWFF cater for children with non alcoholic drinks, face painting, bouncy castle and much more.

For the foodies, there will be gourmet food stalls to explore and Local Entertainment to get you on your feet or chill out under the summer sun.

Local Line up of Top Entertainers for 2016. Something for everyone.

Programme:

11.00 - 12.00pm     Walkup Entertainment:    Walkup Entertainment Hour/CD Music -  Walkup & do:-      One or two songs either Solo, duo, trio etc. Only one plug in instrument & one microphone. Participants register by 10.30am to John Murphy at the stage.

 12.00 - 1.00pm     Kramit:   Kramit are a popular local duo with a mix of Original & Cover material appropriate for festival goers and the time of day. Candy & John will set a great tone for the day.

1.15 - 2.15pm     Toms Field:  Tom's Field hails from Motueka and is a 4 piece folk/blue grass fusion with contemporary and original flavors.

2.15 - 2.45pm     Samba Del Sol:  Nelson's Samba Del Sol is a community based percussion group bringing the vibrant rhythms of Brazilian Samba to the BWFF festival.

2.45 - 3.45pm    Urban:   Urban are a Nelson based five piece band and this is the third time they have played at the Brightwater Wine and Food Festival but the first with their new lead singer Betsy Hill and drummer Richard Bradley. Completing the line up is Anne Rijnink (keyboard & vocals), Mat Charles (bass guitar and vocals), and David Turnhout (guitar). Urban play an eclectic mix of both catchy originals and covers and are currently in the process of releasing their first album.

4.00 - 5.00pm     Antoni Neal - Family & Friends:  A Pop/Rock singer with energy & passion who has a great take on popular covers like 'Copperhead Road', 'Wagon Wheels', 'Boys light up' and more.... A local well known Nelson muso who can really make a festival humm! As well as Private functions Antoni also teaches guitar & vocals at Waimea Intermediate school. Antoni is ably backed by his talented sons Mitchell (lead) and Liam (bass) with Chris from Richmond Sprig on drums.

Bus Tickets

From any Nelson / Tahuna / Stoke / Richmond pickup point:

One way tickets $5.00 per adult, $2.00 per child (4-14 years).

Buses will pick up at SBL Service Bus stops on the route, plus outside the Richmond Holiday Park, Three Brothers Corner, Hope Store, Eden Road, Hope.


Bus Timetable

NELSON - BRIGHTWATER Bus will leave the Nelson SBL Depot

Depart at 10:30am Route is via Haven Road, Wakefield Quay, Rocks Road, Annesbrook Drive, Main Road Stoke, Saxtons Field & Hope.

STOKE - BRIGHTWATER Bus will leave Stoke, Songer Street Corner

Departing at 10:50am. Route is via Main Road Stoke, Salisbury Road, Queen Street, Gladstone Road & Main Road Hope.

RETURN SCHEDULE Buses leave Brightwater from 4:30pm


Biking To the Festival

Why not bike out with friends and family along the Tasman Cycle Trust Trail from Nelson to Brightwater through stunning rural countryside.

Secure bike parking is available at no cost.


Caravans & Motorhomes

MotorHomes and Caravans are welcome to stay overnight on Saturday & Sunday at no charge in the beautiful winery grounds. Please note there are no facilities so you must be self contained.
